Eye for an Eye?

I believe that revenge is different with every different person that takes it. I think that in such things as a sports rivalry, revenge is useful in driving the team to victory. Just that little extra something to put behind you to get that extra yard. And when you achieve your revenge, it is oh so sweet for the whole school. Not just the team. But some people can't handle revenge. Some people can't stop once they start, and they can never get enough vengeance on their rivals or enemies. Those who are not careful, should not seek revenge because they will only succeed in hurting themselves. Thomas Moore once said: "Those who plot the destruction of others often parish in the attemp." I think revenge is something not to be handled lightly, but to carry on a velvet pillow, to be careful with, or it will consume you. Revenge has a way of over running you to a point where it is your one heart's desire. So I will leave with this quote by Ghandi: " An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind."

Screwed over again: The next four years

The election this year was not a good one, in my opinion. I couldn't vote, but if I could have I don't think I would've. They say that if you don't vote, you don't have the right to complain about the president for four more years. Personally, I thought that both candidates were lacking in many places. I also think that security for Obama is going to be very difficult. There are a lot of people out there who are going to be trying to kill him just because of the color of his skin.
I had made predictions about this election, and all of the ones that I made were actually correct. I knew that Obama would win, bacause of all the support that he had, and all of the things he was promising. I'm saying the things he was promising and not the things he is going to do, because I think he said a lot of things just to get in. I also predicted that the local referendum would not pass, and I was correct on that. But that is entirely another subject, maybe for another day.
The results are reflective of the campaigns. I think that Obama won as soon as he proved that McCain voted with Bush 95% of the time. After how badly Bush has screwed our country over, people panicked as soon as they saw that. The last thing this country needed was another Bush. Not saying that Obama was a better choice mind you, just that he was the only choice.
If I could have elected anyone in the world huh? Now that's an impossible question to answer. I think that before I can tell you who to elect, I need to be able to see them in action. To see their opinions and the way that they have voted with the house in the past.
As far as the election this year goes. I am not satisfied with our new president, but there isn't any changing it. I guess all there is to do now, is sit back, and watch the way he leads our country. No pressure Obama.
